Hola,
Como estan? Muy bien aqui! Things are going great here. Can you believe it that it has already been 4 weeks. That is crazy it feels like it has all been one day. A lot has happened this week so i will try and get it all down in this email but i might now i have 20 minutes left so i will try.
First your email and letters. Thanks for all that you guys sent me in the package. I really needed shirts and stuff and the Dew is legit. Me and my companion got a fridge!! yes a fridge. We pulled some strings to get it but we got it and it is legit. So thanks for the package. As well mom you can send me another dose of that medication right now so that you don't have to send it to mexico in a month but whatever. Thanks for the package and the gel as well it is legit i love it.
Sounds like Katie is tearing it up on the volleyball court. Katie volleyball is voleibol in spanish just to let you know. but write on your ball "voleibol Techo" means volleyball stud. Or write it " Techo de Voleibol" Stud of volleyball. Keep tearing it up kate and keep working your hardest. There will always be the hazing cuz your a fresh but just remember that is becasue people are jealous. I tried so hard not to do it in high school but you think it is cool and i did it but it isn't cool becsause they benefit your team extremely so just show what you got on the court.
Tay thanks for the letter and for you playing the piano on the tape for me. It sounds like you are getting good and i'm excited to hear more. And wow 6th grade already geez you are the new most popular girl in the school i heard. That is awesome tay work hard!
Thanks for the advice about the tape. I think i am going to just do it on like wednesday or something i don't know yet i will decide soon but thanks for the words of caution. Cuz dad i know you are full of those. ha ha thanks!
Sounds like MC is going to be decent this year and it sounds like they will be better then we all think. I'm glad for them and yeah about dave i don't know what to say i guess that is how he is. But it sounds fun that you are taking stats ha ha not!
Now on to my week. So much has happened this week i don't know where to begin.
Spanish is coming more which is great. Our district plays this game called el nativo. Which is the native. We have to speak spanish all day except during gym and meals and it has helped a lot. It is a fun game and my team is losing.
Me and my comp had a chat this week which is through mormon.org and we talked to a lady that has been inactive and wants to get back into the church. We called back up on her on monday but she wasn't able to talk to her bishop so i shared my testimony and hopefully she gets back into the church. It is amazing how bad i want people to accept this gospel and it is amazing at how people are willing.
Me and my companion have gotten better at teaching the first lesson in spanish. Hopefully you got the tape that lex showed you of me teaching about joseph smith. It wasn't a lot but it was pretty good for 4 weeks i think. My teachers are so great and they have taught us a lot in the past four weeks and it has flown by. Brother gonzalaz is hilarious and we always laugh with him because he is an awesome chilean!
We got new Zone leaders this week and they are from our zone which no one saw coming. There was two zones above us and so we didn't see it coming. But they have been great. We get a new district today so that will be good and yeah. We also get a new district leader this week because it is half way so i will let you know who that is in my next week email.
Sunday we had our usual devotional and the guy that talked to us showed us almost all of the churchs commercials and it was one of the best talks that i have heard for awhile. It was funny as well as meaningful for my mission.
It was the best until yesterday night. We had the great privaledge to hear from Elder Richard G. Scott. Yes on the the 12. It was soooooo amazing and it taught me so much. He started off with a special blessing on us. Which he can do because he is an apostle and he blessed us with the gift of tongues so yeah im not worried about spanish anymore and i know i still have to do my part but wow that was amazing. As well as that blessing he blessed us with protection if we follow the spirit so taht was great and he emphasized it to the sisters but as well as to us. The thing that hit me the most was at the end of his talk he said "I know Jesus Christ lives, because i KNOW him" That was one the most powerful things i have ever heard and it strengthened my testimony a ton. He said it about 5 times and wow the spirit was amazing in that meeting.
I also went to the temple dedication on sunday at 3 and it was as well amazing. Us singing the last song was so powerful and brought tears to my eyes and strengthened my testimony about this church even more. This church is so true and it is amazing. The main thing of this church is the Atonement and i am so excited to share this message with the world.
Im thankful that you guys are keeping lexie in your lives i know she needs it dearly and it helps her not be so lonely so thank you. Keep it up!
I think that is all i have to say. Thank you for the letters and the emails. I did get the letters about butchs house this week. How is that going? they redoing it yet? so ya i got those letters and i felt bad for the guy.
Other than that how is everyone? how is the house? katie my iphone eh? i didn't think so? i'll think about it and let you know if you can use it? I love getting tapes because it feels like i am at home so that is great thanks for that. Other then that just fill me in about what will happen in this next week and i will report on my week next week as well.
This gospel is SO TRUE!!
I love you all and miss you as well. But i am loving it here and am loving my district a ton and it is going great. Love you all a whole lot! and i have been blessed with such a great family to support me! Love you!
Love,
Elder Harvey

Three Weeks In The MTC...
Hey Family,
It's been three weeks now and it has been some great three weeks. In this past week there has been a lot of things that has happened and i will try to get it down in this email but i might now be able to so yeah ill try hard though.
But first I will answer your questions. Care package- YES PLEASE!!! Like a ton of candy and you can even send me a 12 pack of dew and that would be great. My companion got like a 24 pack of dew this week and yeah i want some stuff. so please i would love it. I never recieved the article of the blow up at butch and kristens. But chel kind of told me more about it so yeah. Thats crazy and that guy isn't very smart for using laquer based primer. I wouldn't have had to turn off the pilot light becasue i use water based which is the safest. But im sorry for the guy and i have prayed for him a couple times. I pray for the family every time i say a prayer it helps me cope with the being away from everyone. And i know that you all pray for me and im very thankful for that. I hope that the prescription is on its way. I'm out of it on thursday and it is just starting to kick in. I take two a day so it is gone in like 30 days. Shirts- Yes t-shirts please i didn't bring enough. Also emails i think that the attachments get closed out as i click on it so try not to attach anything, but i would love to get pictures once in a while. email- i have 30 minutes on wednesday to email. I can print out emails and that is what i have done so i can log off and read them and spend all the time emailing so keep emailing. Thank you all for your letters and they are great to get. We always guess who gets the most letters in the day and the biggest package so we make it fun in our district.
Now on to my week, this week was great. I think on thursday we taught the first lesson in spanish and it went ok. I was very nervous and i had to use notes. Since then we have taught it like 4 times and i haven't used notes at all. (just to add to this, all other districts don't teach the first lesson in spanish until week 4 and we have already started and we have only been here for 2 weeks.) Im grateful for my teachers for pushing us. I fasted for help on thursday just with spanish in general and it has helped me SOOOOO much. Fasting is a real blessing if you do it the right way and you do it for the right reason. Im going to send a tape to lex of me teaching joseph smith and i will have her show you guys so it will be great.
Friday and Saturday just flew by, i don't even remember what we did. In my personal study i am going to try and read the BOM twice or once before i leave the CCM(MTC). the Bom is great if you follow along and it really is so amazing and has helped me while i have been here so much.
Sunday is always a good day. We have a lot of chill time where we just hang in our rooms and chill with each other. Me and Elder Rex are becoming real good friends and he is a stud. He was very down when he comp went home the first week but i've been here for him and we have gotten real close and im grateful for his example to me. He is such a stud. We usually go to bed early and so the lights are all off and usually me and him wrestle or mess with each other so it is a fun time at night right before bed. Also we had a guy come and speak to us we always have a devotional on sundays. It was good and he talked about faith. He did the first letter thing you know so like F is for Father in Heaven. A is for Accountability, I is for Inspiration, T is for Testimony and H is for Holy Ghost. He tied it into our missions very well and it tought me alot.
Monday is usually one of the longest days here. We have Hermano Gonzalez (aka Nico) teach us for like 4 hours straight. He taught us a lot on monday just like he teaches us a lot every day but on monday it was great. We did some more stuff to conjugation of verbs and it was good because i understood everything that he taught. I am starting to understand everything that him and Hermana Durrant teach and it is going great.
Yesterday we taught the second lesson which is the Plan of Salvation in English in the TRC. Me and my companion hadn't really practiced it at all so it went alright. Plus usually we teach fake investigators people who come volunteer but we had to teach our teacher which she just got back 4 months ago from her mission so she asked some pretty tough questions but we did alright. We also did our task in spanish. We have a task each week and they go pretty well if i rely on the spirit which i have been doing more since before.
Today we had Personal study and Comp study and went to the temple. I think this week i am going to read from PMG instead of BOM because PMG will help a lot in teaching. So ill let you know how it goes on wednesday.
Tell me some of the experiences that you have had without me. Dad you said you have been having them so tell me about them i would love to hear.
Also tay thank you for your email. It is great. Keep sending them. Oh and Katie no you can't have my iphone. ha ha. Also forward this to sky becasue i don't have his email address on me so if you could do that that would be great. Send it to Drew as well im almost out of time. Tahnks! Also how is everyone doing?
Thank you again for all of your support and help that you have been giving me. I love to get emails and letters. I'm printing my emails out from you and gonna try and keep them nice and stuff to have after the mish.
the more i think about it the more excited i am to go to mexico.
I love you all and please involve lex still. I love her very much and want her around when i get back so thank you for what you have done and keep doing it please
I love you all! Until next week!

2 Weeks In...
Hey family,
Its p-day once again and this week went by really fast. I've been here for two weeks and i am loving it a lot. Im glad to hear about katie going to work her butt off at tryouts and i hope she works her hardest. I was so so so so happy when i got the tape from everyone and hearing the voices i laughed a couple of times because it was just awesome and made me feel at home even though im not.
Dad seriously go get your shoulder and knee checked out because if it is hurtin you that bad then you need to go and do something about it. it sounds like the high adventure camp sounded fun.
Its about time you sold that piece of crap car. How much did you guys sell it for? and did you get everything out of it before you sold it? like in the jockey box?
Have you been paid from brady? i hope so because it's been awhile and i hope that you don't forget to pay off that stuff that i still owe money on. Please do that asap if you will thank you.
Jeeping sounds like it was fun. When i get back im so gonna buy a jeep so we can all go all the time. Im jealous that you guys are going to be going to moab but it's alright i will be serving the lord which is even better ha! Just think about it 37 inch tires, four door, huge lift, massive crawling capacity. Yep don't laugh because i will make it happen.
Thank you for involving lexie still that means a lot to me that you guys love her just as much as i do. Please continue to do it as long as she wants it.
I do get everyones letters and they are a great part of the day. Tay thank you for the letter recently and i am glad that you like waking up and being home alone, i always liked it. Continue to email and write and i will try and answer all questions and let you know what has happened within the week.
My schedule of the week: On mondays we wake up at 630 and we have service for an hour or hour and a half i can't remember. The mtc is the cleanest place on earth i bet. Then we have breakfast every morning at 815. After taht we have LGMs every monday where they teach us how to be better missionaries. Then at 1015 we have personal study where i just read the scriptures, i have started the bom again which is awesome. Then we have companion study, then we have missionary directed time where we decide what we do and stuff. That is always great as well. We then have lunch and then our teacher for like 5 hours where we learn spanish constantly. One of my teacher is Hermano Gonzalez, he is very good at teaching us spanish and he pushes us to speak spanish always which no other district does taht so it is good. We have dinner at 6. The food is alright like you guys know but nothing like yours dad. I have GAINED 9 pounds or around there already. Im shooting for 30 or more. ha ha. We also have an hour of language study on monday to work on spanish.
Tuesday we have all the same stuff except different order and no service or lgm. Instead of those things we have gym in the morning which i ball up and stuff and that is a stress reliever. And we also teach in the trc. The trc is where we go teach fake investigators tasks and lessons. This weeks was terrible. We were supposed to get to know someone in spanish and i blanked and got pissed at myself cuz i didnt' say a dang thing. It was very frustrating. But the first lesson went well. This next tuesday we teach the second lesson and my and my companion teach the first lesson on thursday in SPANISH!!! Im nervous. Also on tuesdays we have the opportunity to listen to a general authority speak. This weeks was Elder Snow of the seventy. His talk was way good and he gave us seven things to work on as missionaries. And he talked about how we have to choose the lord and not ourselves. It was great.
Wednesday is p-day and we go to the temple and we do laundry and write many letters and email. I did the sealing room today which it was way cool and im looking forward for the day when i get to kneel with my wife and be sealed for all eternity. Im also grateful that i was born into the covenant because there are many blessings that i have recieved because of it.
I am going to be sending some pictures home just so you guys can see so they will be coming in the mail soon.
Thursday is all the same just no service and more MDT (missionary directed time) I usually read the scriptures a lot and that is amazing and i encourage the family to read the BOM as a family all the way through.
Fridays are also the same just a ton more class time. My other teacher is Hermana Durrant who just got back from her mission 3 or 4 months ago. She pushes us in the gospel doctrines which kinda evens out Gonzalezs teachings. So they are both great.
Saturday is almost the exact same as friday just different order.
Sundays we have priesthood and sacrament and stuff instead of class. It is a resting day and very nice to have.
Im running out of time so i will write you with the pictures and tell you about my district and my comp some more. I love you all and thank you for your support. Im excited to hear from you soon. Love you guys!
Elder Harvey
P.S. Medication and ties, and also some shirts if you would send me. Thanks!

First email...
Hey family,How is everything going at home? How are the girls doing? How are Damian and Trev doing they still more cute then ever?
Well everything is going great here. it's been a week and it has been great. The first 3 days were the longest days of my life we just had orientation after orientation after orientation. But since then it has been great. Sundays are great because we do nothing really we just have a ton of free time and so we just chill in our rooms. We had an elder go home the other day but it was for the good reasons. He was very funny and we all miss him a lot. This place is awesome and the spirit is so strong here. My p-day is today (Wednesday), we got to go to the temple and that is always amazing so it has been a good day so far.
The food here is alright but not the best not as good as yours dad not even close but i can live with it. My companion is Elder Cope and he is way cool and fun to be comps together with. We are studying hard and we are learning spanish pretty fast we taught our first lesson to a investigator proxy on tuesday and it went great i think. It was in english so that was good but soon we will have to do it in espanol. Spanish is actually coming to me, ive learned a lot in 7 days a lot more then at school and i actually remember it so that is good. How is katie and taylor doing? They getting ready for school? I heard lex went with the girls shopping and i just wanna say thank you for keeping here in the family and keep doing it please. Dad i just wanna thank you for the things that you have taught me. everything you have taught me will help me on my mission and i can guarantee that and thank you again. Mom thanks for always being there for me even though i was way obnoxious all the time. Your the best mom that i could ever ask for and i wouldn't trade you for anything i love you very much. Kate and Tay be nice to mom and dad and don't argue with them do what they ask and i promise you will be blessed from the lord if you do. Obey your parents is a commandment and you will be blessed. Also girls good luck at school don't be shy and just be yourself and you guys will love it. Also work hard in school because i wish that i would have worked harder then i did. also family check out dearelder.com if you want to get me letters faster but it is up to you on what you guys do. It is wednesday and i still haven't got a letter from you so i am expecting one later today or tomorrow so yeah. But i just want to tell the family of how great this gospel is and how grateful i am to be serving a mission. I've never been this close to the lord and it is the best feeling in the world. Keep me in your guys prayers and i will keep you in mine as well. This gospel is so true and the book of mormon is true as well as joseph smith was a true prophet and thomas s monson is our true prophet right now. Tell everyone i love them im going to be writing a lot of them while i do my laundry. I love you all and hope to talk to you soon!

First Words...

We got two letters from Chris last weekend - just a few days after he'd left. A quick note telling us that he had already received a confirmation from the Spirit that he was where he was supposed to be, and a Thank You card/note. When they met with their Branch President and his wife, she gave them all Thank You cards to send to their parents.
I haven't had time to go through the pictures we took on the Wednesday when we dropped him off at the MTC but will try to do that in the next few days, and post some here.
